Artificial

Artificial. A word applied to so many things and acted out by so many people.

When people say artificial most people think of it as a bad thing. Artificial flavors, meats, flowers, or personalities/"people". Just because it's artificial doesn't mean it's not any worse than the real thing. Sure the real thing is better but that doesn't really mean the artificial thing is so bad either.

Real flowers: the fragrance, the softness of the petals/leafs, and the natural beauty they hold.

Artificial flowers: [in this case] cold metal, or plastic, no fragrance. But also, no old musty water, no dried out leafs falling and crumpling everywhere. Lasts longer [obviously].

I appreciate the logic of artificial things. But I don't enjoy people in this modern time leaving behind and forgetting the beauties of the natural world. People have forgotten where the inspiration to make the synthetic versions of these things came from.

Now people who have allergies to flowers and things like that is different.

Yes I have this metal flower, with little decorative rocks in a vase for looks, and I think it looks very nice. But I also grow four different kinds of flowers on my window ledge.

People just don't care about things anymore. So attached to computers and always in the fast lane with no time to stop and slow down to enjoy and appreciate the smaller things.

I hope my fellow Deviants and my watchers enjoy this photo and the meaning behind it.

EDIT: I just have to say this camera is new to me and I totally DID NOT take this picture in 1999 lol
