Sad Beauty

Refreshing, replenishing rain; falling from the sky to wash over the earth and plunge it into a gloomy yet beautiful state of what could be seen as sadness.

Clouds shedding fresh tears and spotting the earth as if the flowers and the trees had cried instead. Nothing can be happy all the time. Owls and crickets that sing at night fall silent when the sun rises. Things can only hold so much until something in them breaks with the need to be let free.

It makes me think of people who always looks so happy, confident, and well put-together but you can't really see what is going on inside them. The TRUE them. They could be wearing a mask of happiness for others so they "don't worry about me" or things like that. They could be silently screaming with agony and anguish on the inside waiting to be alone to break in privacy without the judgement of others, without looking weak or causing others pain. Being bold and confident can also mean you're just as fragile.

Most people find sadness ugly and want to ignore it, but I find beauty in sadness in cases like this. Nature is always beautiful, even if some people don't think so it is in it's own unique way. This flower looks sad with rain droplets like tears upon its' petals yet so magnificent and bold with color. Things that may normally be repulsive can always have a beautiful side even if you can't see it at first.
